About the Image(s)

The original image of the Imgomar Club was taken midday on our way to Joshua Tree back in May with the Tamron 28-70mm lens at 39 mm on the Sony A7RII. The aperture was f-8, shutter speed 1/1250 second, and ISO 100. A day-to-night preset was used and adjusted to achieve the "spooky" look.

Excellent art work and I can't imagine how you brought original to a master piece.   Posted: 10/06/2021 21:51:15

Thank you for such kind words! A day-to-night preset was modified and lights were added by using radial filters. (Both tricks are courtesy of Serge Ramelli.)   Posted: 10/07/2021 11:24:21

Definitely spooky and a good conversion from the original. I can see the Addams Family having a picnic on the lawn there.   Posted: 10/10/2021 16:18:25

I've thought about adding a ghostly figure.   Posted: 10/10/2021 17:48:39

I don't think you need a ghostly figure, the image on its own is great! I would not change a thing. I would love to know the technique you used to create the moonlight and the light in the windows.

Hopefully, this link will work : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVCvZvJcbbo
If not, the lights in the windows are created with radial filters - a small one to mimic a lamp and a larger one to create the halo. (I add a little orange/yellow color to the filter too.) I'll have to check, but I believe the "moon" is actually the sun being affected by the browns in the preset.   Posted: 10/11/2021 16:58:53
