About the Image(s)
Photo of Kennecott Mine in front of Mt. Blackburn and the Root Glacier. All the brown dirt, is actually the glacier with debris on top of it. The mine is now closed and was turned into a national park as part of Wrangell-St. Elias. In fact, the Wrangell-St. Elias Park is the largest national park in the country. This was taken at mid-day, so not the best lighting, but ran it through PS to get more contrast and effects. Taken with my Nikon Z7, ISO 400, 1/500 sec at f/13, 33.5mm.

Hi Kathryn. What a nice shot. I like how you set the compositions. I would partially increase the building contrast (a bit) and apply vignette to darken the area around snow mountain and the building. Just a personal taste.   Posted: 11/03/2023 00:45:17
Great capture. I love the mood, depth, and the good illustration of the area.

Hi Kathryn, What a nice composition with the mine buildings in front and the glacier in the back! I like the picture very much, especially the low, dark clouds with the blue sky in the back, but it's just a little confusing where the focus of the picture is. I would think the main subject is the mine building, but the building is pretty dark, and my eyes are drawn to the bright glacier in the back. I tried brightening the building just a bit and that seemed to bring more attention to it as the subject of the picture. I'd love to visit there, as you did.   Posted: 11/12/2023 21:45:27
Hi Kathryn, Nice story telling picture. The right contrast in every part of the picture. Nice composition. Love it.   Posted: 11/16/2023 07:30:49
Hi Kathryn, clouds sure add to your pic, nice composition. I agree that making the building stand out a little more would add to the pic. Really like the snow caped mountains. Good one   Posted: 11/17/2023 19:14:42
