Little improvement in lightroom brightness and contrast.
For me the sunbeam , rainbow and the clouds in the sky are making the picture.

Really like the clouds Stefaan, they really stand out. Pic is sharp, lighting great. I may have cropped some of the bottom of the picture to place greater attention on the storm, but it is only a thought, well done   Posted: 09/02/2023 01:16:49

Nice submission. I like it as it is, but I agree with Geoff that cropping some of the bottom would also work well.

I find it hard to capture rainbows the way we see them. To my eye, they always look faded and desaturated in images. Any processing suggestions?

Hi Geoff and Pierre,

thx .
for the crop still fighting with it .

Now it is 2 x 1 crop and I love the start of the beach curve.

If I make it a 3 x 1 frame then I have even more sky at the right side of the rainbow but I lost the dynamic of the curve of the beach , the route just next to the beach and with the small river.

Need some tests. :-)   Posted: 09/06/2023 00:55:31

I love the cloud. To me, subject to this landscape is the cloud. My PSA senior mentor advice me to avoid obvious over exposure spots (white space with no pixel) in the cloud. Therefore, I partially cloned the cloud using luminosity selection for smooth transition. I also partially increased contrast of the cloud. The last part is cropping it so our viewer eyes will not go far way from our main subject. However, it's a matter of personal taste. Thanks for sharing this extraordinary image with us.   Posted: 09/20/2023 02:52:41

Hi Stefaan- I agree with Frans regarding both the subject of the picture (the clouds) and the cropping of the houses on thee right. The clouds supported by the water and the leading line of the stream make for a strong image and the extra houses- and even the distant rainbow- don't add much. My only concern is the very bright- seemingly overblown- sky above the water on the left side of the picture. There's not much to do about it after the fact, but reducing the exposure at the time of taking the image might have helped.
