About the Image(s)

I have been travelling around in my tiny travel trailer with not much access to wifi. I didn’t have any recent photos that I wanted to submit prior to this week. However, I ran out and took this photo just a couple of hours ago. The lighting isn’t the best and I couldn’t get anyone to chop down that tree in the front, but the view is pretty nice. You should recognize it, I think. Taken with Nikon Z7, f/9 at 1/640 sec, 31 mm on kit lens with ISO 250.

Never tire of this view. Good water flow this year! Such majesty & beauty no matter the day.

Could use some dodging and burning to help direct my eye to your primary and secondary supporting elements where you want it to go. Determine areas of attack you want to bring forward by adding warmth, light, sharpness, texture and areas you want to retreat to darken, cool, blur, move back.

I envy your ability to wake up on site to shoot dawn! Be safe. Take all precautions the bear don't smell your food & come investigate.   Posted: 05/12/2021 17:53:19

A classic image first made famous by Ansel. All the right ingredients of a great images are there, the famous half-dome, bridal veil Fall in the back drop of sierra mountain range. I would definitely, as Judy suggested, try to capture it again with more atmospheric support, such as morning mist, afternoon stormy clouds, or rising full moon.   Posted: 05/13/2021 00:12:42

This is a great place to hang out to wait for a photo op. - and the scenery does not get any better than this! This is a very respectable image even though not taken at the magic hour.   Posted: 05/18/2021 19:21:43

Very scenic Half Dome at the Yosemite National Park. Nothing you can do with that tall tree - does not bothter me.
I agree with the previous comments. Enjoy your trip!

Hi Kathryn, knowing this is a straight out of camera image. You deserve for my full empathy by saying ... the lighting isn't the best ... I couldn't get anyone to chop down that tree in the front ... but the view is pretty nice. Indeed the view is very nice ... and one thing that I like so much is how you make self evaluation to your own image. Thanks Kathryn, we are all here to share a lesson for others.   Posted: 05/24/2021 11:55:24
