About the Image(s)
Taken on our recent trip to Kenya. This Kingfisher had its nest in the water just off the bridge, which we passed several times. They were flying back and forth whenever we passed, and this time I got lucky to see the bird with its fish. Although he fish is almost as big as the bird, he had no problem swallowing it.
Sony A7 600mm. ISO 5000 f8 1/5000secs Manual mode with auto ISO.

Mervyn,
You caught an interesting moment which adds a story and greater interest to what otherwise would have been a more ordinary image of a bird on a pile of soil.   Posted: 11/09/2023 01:55:43

Nice! What a shot. This shows that returning multiple times to a specific interesting spot can produce wonderful results.

Mervyn, you captured a nice example of a male Pied King Fisher which is common in Africa and Asia. As you described, they pretty much return to the same spot again and again. The same is true for the bee catchers. The image is sharp, with a nice non distracting background.   Posted: 11/14/2023 12:21:43

Mervyn, I like the capture and I especially love the 3/4 on pose. The image is sharp and the brown in the surroundings actually accentuate the bird. Nice job.
