About the Image(s)
For this month I decided to use an old photo. The photo was taken using an iphone 6s. I believe that it is a sweet potato flower but it was an old photo so I am unsure. For editing I cropped the photo and muted the background. To do that I introduced more yellows and purples into the leaves to try and bring more focus to the flower.

Sure is a pretty flower, and is well cropped to fit the frame.
Using dodge and burn, I would suggest lightening the center of the flower and darkening the bright areas on the petal.   Posted: 05/12/2023 13:34:39

Jacob,
I like the contrast between the flower petals and the surrounding green vegetation and the vivid contrast in colors between the center of the flower and leaves.

Great capture. As mentioned in your earlier submissions, the selection of the "perfect" flower is crucial as well as trying to have your lens parallel to the area you want to be in focus. You nailed it on both fronts this time.
It is so nice to see your progression. You should review your submissions when you joined this group. Simply "WOW".

Beautiful flower. Wish the light were not so harsh. One bit of advice I heard from a professional photographer for Nat Geo is, "the most important piece of equipment for photography is - an alarm clock." Good to know, but hard to practice. Nice job.   Posted: 05/25/2023 18:30:14
