Oh, I love this! Love the grains so sand in the foreground and the sharp bird and the blurred background. What was your f/stop? You didn't mention how you processed it. Did you blur the background or was he that far from anything.

I've never hear of a red caped clover. he's a handsome bird. His lifted claw seems odd, is that how it looked? You didn't provide the original for comparison.

Would love to have this!   Posted: 09/06/2021 18:49:54

I did nothing to it Brenda, the f stop was f8 this gave me the foreground and background out of focus. The 500mm lens helped. I did not need to provide the original, you are looking at it. Thanks Brenda   Posted: 09/06/2021 20:16:04

Boy that's a sharp image with great bokeh. With that sharpness, I'd crop in a bit more. Nothing in the background is of much interest.   Posted: 09/06/2021 19:48:26

So wonderful to see a species that is unfamiliar with me. Love the color palette and the bokeh. I would not crop anything as I feel it sits just right in the frame.   Posted: 09/10/2021 12:55:22

Beautiful, Geoff. I love the texture in the feathers. The colors are beautiful, raised foot adds some action, the thin strip of in focus sand makes the image perfect.   Posted: 09/12/2021 14:30:11

I love it. The bird is very sharp. Your image nicely illustrates how shallow the depth of field is at f/8 when using a 500 mm lens.   Posted: 09/12/2021 18:00:12

Yes its interesting how depth of field works, but equally well a low angle helps. I almost had the camera on the ground. Regards Geoff   Posted: 09/13/2021 00:06:04
