September 2021 - Water Lily

About the Image(s)

Taken on our recent trip to the North Georgia Mountains on an overcast day. It had been raining which left the water lily and leaves covered with rain drops.

Lovely, sharp image. I especially like the rain drops. The presumed vignette works to emphasize the flower.   Posted: 09/06/2021 19:29:45

Nice! A great reminder about going out when its overcast and has just rained. The water drops are nice and the subtle pink and bright yellow colors and perfect lily pad all work in your favor. Something isn't sitting right with me and I can't decide what it is. Perhaps a bit of a color cast? I will see if anyone else has a suggestion.   Posted: 09/06/2021 19:40:13

I agree the drops of water add very much to the shot. like the vignette. I would possibly have left a little space to the left and above the centre the flower, but not sure. Good one.   Posted: 09/07/2021 04:28:03

Nice, soft image, Mervyn. the raindrops add to the beauty of the image   Posted: 09/12/2021 14:02:27

I agree with all the previous comments. Maybe slightly increasing the brightness and contrast on the whole image and slightly increasing the saturation just on the flower could be interesting.   Posted: 09/12/2021 14:31:28

This is a lovely picture. I think the placement is very nice especially because it is off center. The rain drops are a very nice addition to the picture to, it makes the picture feel a lot softer.   Posted: 09/21/2021 14:52:27

I'm circling back and I think I agree with Pierre that a little more brightness would help. It has a yellowish cast, that I'm not sure was intentional.   Posted: 09/21/2021 19:10:04
