About the Image(s)

According to Wikipedia, Orbea variegata is a species of flowering plant in the family Apocynaceae, known as the star flower. It is native to the coastal belt of the Western Cape, South Africa, growing actively during the winter rainfall season. It is an invasive species in southern Australia.

A friend called me to come over and photograph this one in his yard. This was his best specimen. I've since ordered some seeds.

I took this shot with a Panasonic Lumix GX7 with 3-D lens, using frame sides for phantogram processing.

The shadow of your frame is distracting. And once again, you've crowded the image to get the phantogram framing. The depth is fine, but you could have gotten more by including more background   Posted: 08/07/2022 11:12:39

The background was not in any way interesting, a potted plant. I left in enough backdrop to get a little bit of sense of the plant, but didn't have a lot to work with. I thought the subject was interesting enough to mainly just show it. Thx for your comment.   Posted: 08/09/2022 17:20:58

Personally, I like the "original" image as it shows me a lot more about the plant. If only the posted image were shown, I would get confused about the white background and the tan flower pot. Or maybe, use a little larger frame to get more of the whole flower, odd leaves and red bud.   Posted: 08/13/2022 12:44:38

Nice shot of the Star flower. The image is sharp and has good lighting. The depth looks good to me. The shadow of your frame is a distraction on the background. Otherwise a good shot.   Posted: 08/17/2022 05:40:06

Interesting shot of the flower and I was not distracted by the shadow as I did not feel that it competed with the flower head as it was in the same colour range   Posted: 08/22/2022 06:01:14

it's not a great 3d shot but i found the flower itself to be fascinating. ordered some seeds of it to plant.
