About the Image(s)

Normally I can only focus from around 8 inches with my Red Hydrogen 1. I decided I wanted to get closer. I bought a Speck Presidio case, a 39 to 52mm step up ring, a 52 to 58mm step up ring, a 58mm Bower 10x macro attachment, and a 3m adhesive pad from a go pro. I cut up the pad to form two halves of a ring, stuck the ring to the case, and attached the macro filter. It focuses much closer now, but with less depth of field and it's not as easy to hold steady. But that is true of any macro lens. There is also some chromatic aberration, but overall it works as expected.

Ouch! Sorry about the window violation!
Also, it should say +10, not '10x'.
And the 'original' is the same flower without the adapter.   Posted: 06/05/2022 16:41:06

Real pretty flower but OUCH is right. It sticks out about half way between my screen and my nose. Great flower!   Posted: 06/12/2022 22:53:36

a little hard to look at, but i'm hardly one to complain about negative parallax   Posted: 06/17/2022 17:50:34

Nice stereo image of the flower. The image has good exposure and lighting. The flower is in good sharpness. Normally we don't expect a blurred background for stereo images. As the flower is not touching the window, it need not be considered as a window violation.   Posted: 06/19/2022 04:32:27

Well, I do like this image; I like the flower and the long stamen...but then you know my difficulty with the window, if this is a violation. The flower is sharp and the little dew drops on the petals add interest. I give you huge credit for creating this macro attachment.   Posted: 06/20/2022 20:59:45
