About the Image(s)

I captured this bee using my Red Hydrogen 1. Although only his antennae are in good focus, I was happy to get this rare shot. Processed in Gimp and SPM

Your title is perfectly correct and it is a pity that so uch is out of focus as otherwise it does appear to be a good natural history shot with the bee coming into feed   Posted: 11/09/2021 16:47:13

It's always hard to catch an inset in flight and accept for the blur it's a great shot. Was the bee moving and the antenna not the when the shutter clicked or was the camera not at the focal plane for the bee?   Posted: 11/09/2021 18:10:26

He was flying into focus. A split second later it would have been perfect.   Posted: 11/09/2021 19:28:11

Nice capture of the moment. I'm curious how you've liked shots on your Red 1   Posted: 11/09/2021 19:54:47

I've had great success between 8 inches and 8 feet. Beyond that, parallax is negligible due to the close lens base. As with any 3d camera, there are limitations and compromises. One drawback is that like most phones, there is no aperture adjustment. I'm building a case with a filter ring mounted to accommodate ND and polarizing filters. Another limit is the lack of zoom in 3D mode. Luckily the resolution is high, so cropping still gives excellent results. Because the phone part was so terrible and expensive, people didn't buy them. They can be found on ebay for around a hundred dollars. Well worth the investment in my opinion.   Posted: 11/09/2021 22:59:24

Interesting, is this one of your bees or a visiting one? They are so hard to capture, you have made an enjoyable view.   Posted: 11/15/2021 09:06:22

A good capture of bee flying into the flower. The blurried bee is ok, but expected more sharpness of the flowers. The lighting and composition look good to me. I didn't find any window violation too. To me, it appears that there is some noice in the image which can be corrected using Topaz denoice.   Posted: 11/26/2021 00:47:44
