About the Image(s)

I shot this image I called "Butterfly - Pinecone" in December, 2004 with a Canon G2, a relatively early and very good 4 megapixel digital camera. The left and right images were separated by 2.5 inches using a home-made slide bar produced with aluminum sliding door track.

One of my earliest outdoor phantograms, this was included in my first book "Phantograms from Nature". The phantogram effect was created in Photoshop by cropping to the corners of the frame sides in both the left and right shots.

Barry, this is a very busy image, but it works. The combination of the butterfly, pine cones, and branches come together very nicely. You did a good job of making the phantogram. I have a butterfly garden in my front yard and I love butterflies. well done.   Posted: 07/04/2021 12:33:08

Interesting view, Barry. I agree it is a busy view but is effective.   Posted: 07/05/2021 09:50:58

Interesting phantogram, but I like phantograms that pop up out of the image. The top branches don't even seem to be above the window. Somehow the butterfly looks odd, but I can't tell why.   Posted: 07/09/2021 13:02:42
