June 2021 - Artificial Poppy Flower

About the Image(s)
This is the centre portion of the artifical Poppy flower (Papaver somniferum) showing its stamen and pistil. This was taken using my Samsung mobile phone last week. I moved the phone just an inch between the two shots. The camera setting were f/2.4, 1/1070 sec, ISO-50 with a focal length of 4mm and center weighted average. I first auto-aligned the images in SPM, then trimmed it to the present composition. The pair image was transfered to photoshop further editing like levels, saturation, denoice and unsharp mask.

Mohanan, Interesting picture and good color. The upper part of the image seems very soft to me. Therefore it seems to lack depth of field. Posted: 06/11/2021 10:56:14

Nice 3D effect with the center of the flower and the folds, wrinkles in the material. I like the various shading that the red material gives off. Nice attempt with your mobile phone. Posted: 06/18/2021 22:45:19
I love the composition, and the colors are fantastic. I see a slight competition in the highlights on the lower left. Also there seems to be a slight toe-out on one of the camera positions. Posted: 06/29/2021 18:08:36
