About the Image(s)
We love exploring side roads when we travel. This was found at the end of an almost invisible tiny road in the mountains of Georgia. You can imagine our glee when this isolated cabin came into view. Photographing there was more than a treat.
I am not sure about the crop. There seemed to be too much in the frame, so I hope you all approve. After converting, I used tonal contrast in Nik, along with Lighten/darken. I used the history brush to further lighten and darken some areas.

Just...WOW! This image is MEMORABLE, Melanie. High impact, great leading lines, and that reflection of the trees in the lake is simply awesome. I have nothing to suggest!   Posted: 05/01/2023 09:05:21
I'm with Gary on this one. Everything works and the picture is beautiful. Nicely done.   Posted: 05/04/2023 14:31:43
Hi Melaine
An ideal setting for IR which you've pictured so well. I like everything about the image ... its processing, composition, etc. Even a vertical composition would work, which may be worth considering at some stage. All in all, an excellent piece of work.   Posted: 05/05/2023 00:01:42

Melanie, this is a near-perfect site for IR photography. So glad you found it and abstracted its visual gifts. The cabin, the pond, the leading line of the fence, and the foliage all contribute to the power of this absolutely splendid image. Wow!   Posted: 05/05/2023 20:35:29
I want to thank you all for the wonderful comments. You have all made me so happy with my choice this month   Posted: 05/07/2023 12:06:55
I'm late to the party, but I concur with everyone else. This is a stunner. I hope you plan to print it.   Posted: 05/07/2023 15:22:14
What a beautiful scene Melanie, I really have nothing to add to the others comments other than this is my favorite of what you've shared here. I like how you've placed the house, and kept some nice whites in what looks like a shady scene.   Posted: 05/08/2023 06:53:55
