About the Image(s)

We had a lot of fun shooting here. It was even more decayed than our last visit. If you have not been, put it on your bucket list.
It is really difficult to isolate from the vehicles as well as the over abundant foliage. Either you have to embrace the clutter or work to remove it in post processing. I did find that infrared helped to simplify images.
Removing the other cars helped here, as well as some cropping. I decided on going with a high key finish that went with the light leaves. I liked the grunge effect created by the noise seen. Nothing special in post processing.

OCC is well worth a visit for a day or two So much to shoot, so much clutter, so much rust....I am glad you went

Simplifying your image by eliminating the clutter is the way to go in my view, love the grunge look, it is OCC. The toning also fits OCC

Well done

I've never been, looks interesting!

I like the high contrast treatment, Melanie, even though you have the white leaves, the tree trunks are black. There's a very gritty feel to it. I especially like the detached tire!

I like the way the tilt works on the car in the original...I might have corrected it just a bit less, to where it wasn't noticeable on the trees, but still a little bit on the car. In other words, I think you overcorrected it just a tad, but that's a nitpick.   Posted: 09/01/2021 17:26:11

Nicely done. The grungy IR look works well. I also like the original version with the other cars in the frame. As you can see in my pictures, I like the images to tell a story. The elements in your original frame contribute to the story. The cleaned-up version focuses on the subject. The original is on what the subject represents. Both are wonderful.   Posted: 09/03/2021 08:34:13

Hi Melanie
A well considered subject which has been post processed beautifully. Composition equally good. Would you perhaps consider introducing a bit of vignette!   Posted: 09/03/2021 21:06:49

Melanie...

Having been here in June, I totally relate to this image. It's well done, and the work on it is obvious. Well done in my view.   Posted: 09/05/2021 16:20:09

Goodness Melanie you had to skillfully labor to remove those other cars, but it was essential to define this car as your subject. I like the attention you have drawn to the grunge and dirt. This is not just an old car, it is a decaying relic from the industrial 1950s. I must find and visit this interesting car graveyard.   Posted: 09/11/2021 21:32:02
