About the Image(s)

This is a fun image that you will notice required an awful lot of clean up. I felt that all the people were a distraction. Prague is such an old looking city and this gentleman on the buggy just seemed so in keeping.
I took the image into Silver Efex and after trying many of the presets, I settled on this usually over the top choice. It was fitting with the old world feeling I think. I did add structure, contrast and brightened some ares. Looking forward the hearing what you all think

Heh Melanie...a WINNER from my perspective. You have chosen wisely, imho, and the result is right from the pages of an old Prague album from about 1926! NOTHING to change for!   Posted: 06/02/2021 09:11:53

Thanks Gary, I am pleased with this. I just entered it into the PSA. Lets see how it does.   Posted: 06/09/2021 10:49:05

Hi Melanie. Incredible work with the clean-up. The old look works well here. I don't think that I ever picked this type of preset, but it's perfect for this picture. I may try it on some old train pictures. The overall high-key look is good too. I may remove the faint details on the sign under the light in the top/left corner. Nicely done.

Thank Arik, That preset is seldom good. it makes most images look over worked. And thanks for pointing out the sign. Too modern.   Posted: 06/09/2021 10:51:13

Melanie, the clean-up work was so worth it. You created a circa 1900 postcard image. I love the expression you caught on the coachman's face. The spots on the horses add to the tone and period-feel of this terrific image.   Posted: 06/04/2021 15:20:44

Somehow I even enjoyed the clean up. As I did it the image started to emerge. Thanks for the kind words.

It's lovely, Melanie. The spotted horses make this, for me, and the high key and white vignette work well. Nicely done.   Posted: 06/05/2021 12:17:29
