About the Image(s)

I liked the way this group of colored umbrellas came alive in black and white infrared. I ran this through Silver FX, to get the contrast needed. For me, I’m not sure the bottom of the scene holds enough interest, however. Your thoughts appreciated on this. Taken in Granada, Nicaragua. 28mm prime f7.1 1/160.

Hi Jack,
Nicely composed and handled IR picture. The scene is interesting, and the post work produced beautiful tones and details. I think you cropped the bottom a little too tight. I would avoid cutting off the bottom of the door on the left and the legs of the people in the image. I understand that it will include the enclosure on the right, so you need to decide whether it's too distracting.

Hi Jack,
Wonderful scene! I see this more as a vertical, and I've attached my version for you to consider. What an interesting street scene, enhanced by the use of infrared.   Posted: 05/06/2021 10:21:31

Thanks, Gary. I did struggle with the crop on this, and knew I could count on the group to offer suggestions. I like yours!   Posted: 05/06/2021 18:01:18

Hi Jack
You've captured a beautiful scene of the hanging umbrellas. I like your post-processing too. With regards to composition, my preference is to go for vertical format as illustrated by Gary. A beautiful subject for IR, nonetheless.   Posted: 05/07/2021 22:51:22
