About the Image(s)
It takes a few dollars to raise race horses.
Workflow: After rendering the image in BW using NIK Silver Efex, I followed my standard procedure of using the LR masking tools to dodge and burn the image particularly the foreground.
Camera: 590nm Canon 5D Mk II, Tamron 28-300 at 60mm, 1/100 sec at f10, ISO 320, 1 EV

Emil, this is a perfect IR subject. The original shot was composed expertly, simply lovely. A couple minor things: maybe increase contrast in the sky, and do what can be done to whiten the fences, particularly in the foreground and that strong leading line lane.   Posted: 03/01/2025 10:33:23

Wow. Great IR picture. I also like the original. I tried channel swapping and loved the color version too. Nice work with a wonderful scene.   Posted: 03/05/2025 14:42:59
Hi Emil...simply superb...can't add a thing. The epitome of IR in my book!   Posted: 03/07/2025 08:42:42
Very nice Emil. The white picket fence is kind of unexpected, being it's the only element of the scene in its true color. It's nicely laid out and as usual, you have a wonderful sky. It's soft as in keeping with your style, and works fine for me as such. As Arik points out, the original is also very interesting, and shows perhaps what one could do with color on this image.   Posted: 03/09/2025 17:49:05
Hi Emil, This just looks expensive. A pristine site which you recognized in a beautiful way. The perspective is just right. I do think that whitening the fences is a good idea, but I'm still taken with it just the way you have processed.   Posted: 03/10/2025 09:58:21
Emil,
I really like this as-is. I also agree that the original could be worked into an interesting false-color IR image as well. Excellent work!   Posted: 03/11/2025 14:01:48
