About the Image(s)
While driving home from Rochester to visit my daughter, this cloudscape caught my attention. Had to photograph it. To render the final image, I increased contrast in the sky, opened the shadows, heightened the highlights, used the dynamic smooth filter in Silver Efex, then reduced noise with Topaz.
Camera stats: Nikon D7000 (590nm), f/22. 1/160, 27mm, ISO=100.

You did good by stopping and getting a shot or two of these magnificent clouds and the sweeping scene below.
Food for thought dodge the field that starts in the lower right and curves into the background. It would serve as a leading line.

Emil, this is a spot on suggestion. I am already reworking the master file. Thank you.   Posted: 12/10/2024 23:09:14

Great cloudscape. I like the picture and Emil's suggestion. I usually keep my clouds softer, but I know that our friends here prefer more dramatic clouds.   Posted: 12/06/2024 21:35:27

I love the sky, Charles and I like the way you decided to let more than half the image be the sky. You could have gone even further to perhaps 3/4.
I love sun fleck scenes like this. But the moment you captured has the distant forests in shade and the foreground in sun; I might have tried for other combinations.   Posted: 12/08/2024 23:11:33

Hi Chuck, Great capture. I wonder if you would consider cropping even more off the bottom. Darkening the path as well as the shadow under the tree line would make it pop.   Posted: 12/11/2024 21:44:41

Hi Charles,
I like it...well done. My only suggestion is to try to get a bit more detail into the darker parts of the forest.   Posted: 12/11/2024 22:32:39
