A Walk in the Park by Arik Gorban

December 2024 - A Walk in the Park

About the Image(s)

Colonial Park is a local county park that I visit frequently to walk the dog and take pictures. This picture didn’t require much post processing. I made tonal adjustments in ACR and later, during the B&W conversion, in Nik Silver Efex Pro. Noise reduction and sharpening were done in Topaz DeNoise AI.

Taken with the Nikon D300, set to ISO 200, 1/200 sec, f8, EV -1.0.

Arik,
Nicely done. I'm a sucker for a pathway leading off into the distance and you placed it in just the right place. Processing is well-done with beautifully white leafy trees.   Posted: 12/03/2024 22:08:36

If I had to chose one image type to represent IR photography to the world it would be A Walk in the Park.

A dark winding path with trees all around is so appealing in IR

Well done

Hi Arik,

It just flows and flows...a classic. Well done. Infrared only enhances a wonderful composition.   Posted: 12/04/2024 22:37:08

It's an ordinary scene, but obviously well thought out, Arik. Besides the curve of the path, it's the leaning branch of the front tree that is essential, for me. There are absolutely no distractions, and I like the subtle warming, I try to do it myself on most of my infrareds.   Posted: 12/08/2024 23:08:04

Arik, I like the quiet energy in this image and the way the path leads the viewer into it. The highlights are splendid. You took this photograph at the right time of day. Nice use of light.   Posted: 12/10/2024 23:00:39

Hi Arik, This is so clean with no distractions. I love being led down the path. The branch seems to mirror the path curve and that's such a bonus. Lovely!   Posted: 12/11/2024 19:44:09
