It is time again that the Agapanthus are in full bloom here in Sydney. Many gardens in the neighbourhood have this beautiful flowers as a part of its decoration. The image that I sharing today was captured almost one year ago, and what I find most appealing about it is
the diagonal line that guides the eye from the lower corner to up to the flower, revealing getting all the details of the bloom along the way.
In post processing , I removed some water drops from the flower as they were a bit distracting. I also applied some darkening to the background enhance clarity and reduced noise.
Here are the technical details:
Shutter speed: 1/1600 sec
Aperture: 3.5
ISO 800
Shot with a Sony camera and a 90mm macro lens handheld.

You always choose flowers that are so graceful, Maria. This time, I love the grace of the stem as it brings the viewers eye up to the flower at the end. I might try removing the lower bud, as I find it distracts from the curve. Also, personally I would put the water drops back in. I do not find them distracting, but that they add interest. Of course, that only is my opinion. Beuatiful, again.   Posted: 11/12/2023 20:14:34

Hi Fran, Thanks for your comment and suggestions, I am glad that you like the image. I will consider putting back the water drops, as the general consensus is that they add interest to the flower.   Posted: 11/19/2023 09:03:09

I love the great detail in this image handheld. This was due to the shutter speed 1/1600 sec. Great background really makes the image pop. I'm not sure I would remove the bud; I feel it would hurt the balance of the image. It adds a bit of interest to the image.   Posted: 11/14/2023 01:44:29

Hi Dick, thanks for your comment,I really appreciate it. I also agree that the bud creates a good balance with the lower area of the image.

Maria, There such elegance in the presentation. My eye starts at the base and enjoys the curve up to your beautiful bloom. Love the little drop on the stem. I would put the other drops back as they add interest Great handling of the background.   Posted: 11/15/2023 19:21:22
