About the Image(s)
As you all may have guessed, I really love close ups of my flowers. This was taken in a private house near where we were staying in the Georgia mountains. The owners gave us permission to enjoy their beautiful garden, which included a water lily pond.
I was intrigued with the bright yellow center of the plant. Having cropped it right down, I used topas shapen to enhance the detail. The cropping left black areas at the edges, so I felt that filling those spaces with a complementary color to the bloom would be more pleasing. Looking forward to your comments.

Hi Melanie, the colour and detail of this water lily is extraordinary. You could have a good time touring each petal en enjoying its details. You did well removing distractions in the borders using colour. My only suggestion to improve this image will be to pay attention to some black spots that could be easily removed.   Posted: 05/12/2023 05:42:37
Thanks Maria, will do.   Posted: 05/21/2023 10:44:18
Hi Melanie, WOW! This is mesmerizing! I can almost imagine a little fairy sitting in the beautifully lit center of the water lily;) I even like the original; it is very interesting and looks like an enchanted garden.
The colors in your image are absolutely gorgeous, and I love how the flower looks as if it's lit from within. Would you please explain how (and, with which software) you filled the edges with your complementary color?

Hi Jodi, Thanks for you comments. I do often us textures to surround my flowers but this time there is no magic in how I filled the edges. All I did was to select the black areas around the flower and the fill with a complementary color. It did take a few tries to find the color that I liked.   Posted: 05/21/2023 10:43:53

Impressive! I like the bright colors, especially the center. Great job with the crop. I like how you filled the edges with a complementary color.   Posted: 05/16/2023 10:04:08

Wow! Such a unique use of saturation. It gives a totally different feel than you usually do (which I love). I can get lost in the detail.   Posted: 05/16/2023 12:43:49
