Maker's Aims and Comments: When the weather conditions are "exactly right" these Lepiota mushrooms emerge in early October on my compost pile. Due to our drought conditions during the summer and fall seasons the past few years have not seen them in quite a while.

Hi Murphy,
Great find. The color and texture of the mushrooms pop out against the warm toned brown leaves. Well exposed. Sharp details on the mushrooms. Nice bokeh in the background. Very pleasing image. Well done.   Posted: 10/04/2021 18:39:34

Hi Bev: Pleased you liked the mushroom grouping. Will enter it into a PSA Nature Exhibition and see if the judges like it.   Posted: 10/10/2021 02:26:44

I will predict you have a winner. Lovely composition, lighting, color and sharpness. All aspects of a winning entry. As you sometimes say, I did find a little "nit-pick". On the right, between the larger and smallest mushroom stems there seems to be a little web or some type of material. Consider removing it?   Posted: 10/26/2021 10:37:36

The texture and the diverse sizes of the mushrooms create quite the impact. Good luck in the competition!   Posted: 10/29/2021 23:41:11
