Nice image Alane, It is sharp, has a lot of visual interest.
The composition, I feel, would be strengthened by flipping the image horizontally. The extreme white background might be softened by painting some diffused light grey bands in the background.   Posted: 05/03/2021 18:33:30

Hi Alane
You captured a beautiful image, and a very interesting story. It holds my interest and keeps my eye in the frame. The iced branches and icicles adds impact. Well composed and sharp. I like it a lot. It's unique.   Posted: 05/04/2021 10:35:37

Hi Alane: You are fortunate to have lived in a cold enough climate to have the conditions to make this picture possible. Out here in the Pacific Northwest is is never cold enough for long enough for this iced branch condition to even happen. Composition is well done, like the small maple leaf in the upper right corner as it adds a nice point of interest. The white background works for me. Well done !!   Posted: 05/17/2021 00:27:25

Hi Alane, You have given us a beautiful "high key" photograph. That technique was appropriate for this particular image. It works well; a plain white background for the iced branch. Cold, icy and interesting. The composition is really nice particularly with the leaf resting in a good position on the branch. I think of it as a bow completing the composition. Excellent focus. Very nice!

I'm not sure the subject is the berries. My eye goes to the leaf.

Lovely composition and detail, and the image tells me a lot, but also asks questions. So, good story.

I'd suggest a bit more space left and below. Maybe get the branch out of the upper right corner?

Nice find. I was not nearly this successful during our snowmageddon.   Posted: 05/29/2021 08:02:02
