About the Image(s)

I’m not sure how I edited this image way back in May 2020 using Topaz. It doesn’t look like any special filter was used. I like the out-of-focus lupine in the background. I was dealing with wind so shot handheld at iso 800, f11, 1/1000 sec using my 105mm macro. I did add clarity and strengthened the blacks and whites before exporting.

Think Spring Flowers.

Hi Bob,

Lovely Lupine flower this month. I really like your edit technique. The post-processing gives the image a raised-metallic-like texture that is appealing to me. The first thing that comes to mind is to print this on metallic paper or metal.

I did take the photo into Topaz DiNoise and found a little extra sharpening helped the prominent flowers in front. If you could reproduce the effect, I would suggest sharpening on the original raw file then edit in Topaz again.

Nice work!

Bob, I agree with LuAnn's observation - this image looks so much like an engraving in metal, at first that is what I thought I was seeing. It's a great effect and look and transforms the ordinary into something extraordinary.   Posted: 05/08/2021 09:21:12
