About the Image(s)
I don’t play around as much with macro as I used to but capturing an image like this is always fun. Managed to get the focus on the eyes and am comfortable with the depth of field but could have worked it a bit more if I’d taken the time on site.

Mark, I could only find three adjectives to describe your image: creepy, brilliant, and fascinating! It's a remarkable macro. It works much better as a monochrome than as a color photograph, and your processing was outstanding! Naturally, I couldn't resist playing with it. I modified the lighting and gave it a slightly tighter crop. Your thoughts?

I guess you could call it creepy. But thank you for your comments and suggestions on edits.   Posted: 10/07/2024 23:28:51

Mark,
I have seen many of your images and this is the first macro shot.
Well done. The eyes are nicely focused and the water droplets look huge. Maybe something you do more in the future?
Regards

Mark - I admire your photo. I don't do macro but I am always fascinated by macro images and the amount of work that goes into them to get a good depth of field.
I agree that if the image resolution allows it then crop closer to the subject.   Posted: 10/11/2024 00:05:14

Mark, Nice macro image. How did you manage to get the fly to sit that long? Those are pesky flies which never seem to sit still long enough. I do like Pete's edit to the image as it does make the fly stand out more and adds more contrast to the scene.   Posted: 10/21/2024 00:29:51
