About the Image(s)

Homebound, so lots of photos from the garden. Simple, straight up photo of a dahlia.

Stunning image. There is a faint background coming through on the lower right. I'd also like to see a small stroke (border) on the image since it has a black background. The colors pop and it seems nice and sharp. Good job.   Posted: 09/08/2023 20:31:24

Gene, you captured this unusual dahlia very nicely! The black background makes the round shape stand out. The center is quite interesting with its twisted pattern contrasting the straight petals emanating from the center.   Posted: 09/09/2023 16:07:41

This is a beautiful and unique dahlia and I'm impressed that it from your garden because I understand that dahlias are a tricky and labor intensive flower to grow. I probably wouldn't have picked up on the faint background in the lower right, but now that I see it, it's probably a good idea to eliminate it. But overall, I think this is a very well done flower portrait and would make quite a grand statement on a large metal print! Thanks for sharing. Ingrid   Posted: 09/12/2023 14:11:41

Love the colors. While not everyone approves of borders, when the subject is centered and against a total background, it helps to contain the image. That being said, try adding a thin neutral or off-white border...   Posted: 09/18/2023 15:40:40
