About the Image(s)
Taken this past Sunday at the Missouri Shaw's Garden in St. Louis.
I used the Fujifilm 100s, 110mm fixed lens. Taken at 1/50th of a second hand held, f 2.8, iso 200. I used Lightroom and cropped in, and then changed the color of the larger plant.

Hi, Randall. I like where you're going with this image. But, using an aperture of 2.8 with a medium format camera won't give you much depth of field. There are several leaves in the lower left corner that are out of focus. Also, there's one leaf on the middle, left side that has some schmutz on it. You might try cropping off some of the left side and bottom (keeping the same aspect ratio and putting the brown leaves in a power point). Also, since you changed the color of the brown leaves already, I might suggest changing the color to a magenta color because it is green's complementary color. The pattern in the green leaves is so striking.   Posted: 05/02/2023 16:57:13

Hi Randall. I love this image. It is very graphic and a great minimalist composition. The only thing I would suggest is a vignette which would eliminate the concern about the edges not being in sharp focus. Thanks for sharing.   Posted: 05/14/2023 15:49:52
I really like the cropped version, however, I would have flipped it horizontally to have the brown leaves in the upper right corner, as that is the way we "read:"...   Posted: 05/14/2023 16:09:53
Love the green leaves and the patterns. I'm not sure about Shirley's comment about reading - normally the eye would read left to right and down. Would putting the brown leaves on the right lead the eye in by focusing on the green leaves first - or would you go right to the brown leaves and skip over the green? Not sure.   Posted: 05/14/2023 16:40:20
