I like taking pictures of cars, planes, boats, trains, and just about any type of transportation. This image was taken during a visit to the Cord-Auburn Museum in Auburn, Indiana several years ago. The museum is in a lovely art nouveau building but it was pretty dark inside. I am pretty sure I was using my tripod. I think the challenge with taking images of classic cars is to find an interesting image within the car rather than try to capture the entire car. I like this hood image because of the sinuous lines, reflections, and soft elegant colors. I used a small apterature in an effort to get everything in focus. The image was taken with a Pentax K-1, 58mm, 1/15, f/32, ISO 3200. I didn't do much post processing other than denoise.

Great colors. Like the reflections from above. Everything is in focus, even those little windshield wipers. Good image for the still life category.   Posted: 05/12/2023 22:01:51
Good eye for shapes Dean. Those sweeping lines are killer compositional elements. I appreciate you putting the roundel where you did, which isn't at any of the conventional points (in fact, you had to know what those conventional points were to get this shot), so kudos. I agree with you entirely that filling the frame with car parts and details is a great way to shoot cars. Having said that, I've seen some full-vehicle shots that are jaw dropping. Anyway, we have options.
