About the Image(s)

Fuji X-T3
80mm macro prime
ISO 200
I bumped exposure up .65 and some cropping. That's it.

The daffodils are going goofy at our place, and my wife brought some in. After doing a bit of arranging, I noticed a dark spot on one of them. Closer inspection showed the dark spot (1/2 the size of a pinhead) to be this guy, I put the whole arrangement on a tabletop, with a white background, and went for it. I like the super simplicity of the composition, but I have NO IDEA what anyone else would think. It's not a super macro (greater than 2X) but it's pretty small) though. Maybe one day...

I really like the simplicity of the background. And I commend you on the sharpness of the focus. Flash or tripod? I'm curious; how far was the end of the lens to the surface of the leaf?   Posted: 05/05/2021 14:57:53

Thanks Bernie! Very kind words. As for your questions re: the technique, check out this photo. I documented it, just because I thought it was a cool use of the custom tabletop mount that you can see I used. I have my flash and a reflector installed, but was actually using a continuous LED panel to light it.   Posted: 05/05/2021 15:56:41
