About the Image(s)

Title: Peekaboo

Taken at Seattle Sounders vs FC Dallas MLS match. Even though the ball is not visible, I felt that the actiion in the image made it a strong image without it.

Hi Bruce, wow, wow, wow, first of all I want to compliment you on your cover photo of the PSA Journal November 2021, the photo is a great eye catcher and the best cover photo of the PSA Journal in a long time. Also your report on Soccer photography in the Journal is very informative and gives good tips for successful Soccer photos.
Now about your November photo Peekaboo, although the ball is not visible in the photo, everyone who knows this sport knows that this is a duel between the two players for the ball. The player in the red jersey is waiting for the ball with his mouth open to pass it on with a header and the player in the green jersey with the number 9 doesn't see the ball because he has the other player's hand in his face. This is for me one of the best soccer photos on which no ball is to be seen.

Bruce, again Kudos to you for your cover and article on the last PSA journal. Obviously, you get excellent nature action photos, extrapolated from your experience in sports action photos. I like very much the fact that the FC Dallas player is covering the face of the other player with his hand, and that he is off the ground. Very well handled the blurred background.   Posted: 11/02/2021 15:44:03

A great action photo of the contest between 2 players it would be interesting to know what happened next. In Australian Rules, rugby it would be a penalty against the player in red, can't touch another players face, high tackle rule. I also notice that you and other members are using F2.8 lenses I suppose this is a minimum for night sport?   Posted: 11/08/2021 22:49:55

Great action, color, sharpness, and blurred background -- as usual. But it's always nice to have the ball in the frame. I'm busy right now with my work on the PSA Honors Committee, but I'm looking forward to reading your PSA Journal article. Congratulations again on your cover.   Posted: 11/28/2021 00:52:03
