Pinaki, interesting image under very complicated light conditions. The mixture of daylight in the background, and the incandescent light indoors drives the sensor crazy, more so, since you have to meter for the dark areas, so there is some overexposed areas in the back. It is a typical middle easter market scene, and the man is wearing the typical outfits. The image is sharp. It has a very strong orange saturation. Using the white balance and the masking brushes from ACR I made the back a little darker to take away that very distracting area, also reduced the orange saturation, and cropped slightly.   Posted: 11/08/2023 13:35:04

Thank You . All good points. I still prefer the original image . It was a candid shot in artificial light and that by itself adds to the magic of the image.   Posted: 11/10/2023 02:04:03

I agree with Isaac this was difficult lighting and the predominent colours seened to add to the overall orange effect on what is a good image. There are times when the colours take away from and image and Mono is the best route. In this case mono then focuses on the man and not the colourful environment he is in which is a major part of the story. I had done a toned down version then came back and seen Isaac's and noted it worked out better than what I had done. I think this is a good image with potential to be better as is seen in the comment above.   Posted: 11/09/2023 22:47:50

Hi Pinaki - All those colors are exciting; I would go crazy with such photographic opportunities! My feedback is about the composition. The wonderful central figure is obviously the subject but the guy gesturing in the back keeps drawing my eye away from him. Overall, the image conveys the atmosphere of an Egyptian market.   Posted: 11/20/2023 15:40:03

Pinaki - Great contrast between the traditional shopper and the young men who appear to be market sellers. The main subject is well-focused with appropriate blurring of the other parts of the scene. IMO, to accentuate the main subject more, I took a stab at some LR edits.... a radial filter that slightly darkens and cools the background as well as a reducing the brightness of the sign white sign seems to help. Pinaki, I like Bruce's edits the best as I believe they bring out the true colors of a mixed artificial lighting environment as evident from the white of his headdress which seems most true. Composition of a group of three (odd number) makes for a better more interesting image. For me the focus of the subject placed in the center of the image make it static, although there is some movement in the feet - for this reason I would crop a bit from the left to place the central figure on the thirds. I like his steadfast gaze as well as his purposeful stride, as compared to the two young men who appears to be idling time.   Posted: 11/25/2023 10:31:44
