About the Image(s)

Here is my image for this month. I took it pre-covid at Fort Adams in RI. They have a civil war reenactment. I took this with my Canon Rebel T7i f16 4.0

Sally, It is always interesting to be around one of this Reinactment events, whereby we can learn about history, customs and way of living in those times. You captured the trio walking towards you and looking at the camera. The feet off the ground denote movement, otherwise it is a very static image. I straightened the horizonthal lines, cropped it a little bit to get rid o the side walkway which is distracting, and added some light to the front line faces.   Posted: 05/09/2023 07:47:28

These are fun to do, but at times they have their own challenges. I did some cropping to remove the concrete line on the left side. Then I tried to use your image to recreate an image consistant to the degree possible with the time frame and types of images from that time. I did crop out a bit of the sky with the intent of focusing on the two period dressed re-enactors. Based on the shadows the lighting on the subjects is about right although I did lighten them a bit.   Posted: 05/09/2023 17:59:50

Sally - I like the way you captured the expressions on the three reenactors and the movement of them walking towards you. Great sky.

Both Isaac and Ed's edits make this a stronger image. Ed's treatment using a sepia tone is interesting and somewhat appropriate for the time period.

Sally I like the B&W treatment that gives your image a timeless feel. The woman with the parasol is charming and movement is denoted with their feet. Nice composition with the group of three. I like your vertical crop and Isaac's adjustments.   Posted: 05/27/2023 17:33:30
