About the Image(s)

Taken in Seville, Spain, on a rooftop walkway. I was intrigued by the steel construction of this futuristic building, and the couple on the opposite walkway were providing some human interest.

Interesting how the different shapes play together giving me feel of suspension. I like the flow from upper left to right and how the roof top flows while seemingly modifying their shapes. The blue sky and clouds also works well and the couple does give a live, human touch.   Posted: 01/15/2022 09:45:26

Roger, This is the Metropol Parasol standing in the Plaza de la Encarnación, also known as the 'mushrooms of Seville' (Las Setas de Sevilla). This building, which opened in 2011, was designed by the German architect Jürgen Mayer, who won a design competition to revitalize the square. It is the largest wooden construction in the world (150 x 70 meters and 26 meters in height). Mayer won the competition partly thanks to the way he integrated the remains of a Roman colony into his building. On top of the parasols, there is a special walkway and a terrace with beautiful panorama ("El Mirador"). Your image is offering us a view of the top, complemented by the presence of the embracing couple. It is sharp, and the colors are well managed.   Posted: 01/16/2022 15:30:58

Roger, interesting architectural subject with curves and geometry with contrast provided by the beautiful sky. The couple provide human interest and they are placed on the thirds in your composition.   Posted: 01/18/2022 07:05:26
