The San Diego skyline is known as the “Tool Box” city as it has many buildings that resemble common mechanic’s tools. Depending on point of view we might see a crescent wrench, pliers, phillips and standard screw drivers and even socket wrenches. Can you identify a few?

Dan, nice San Diego city skyline. I read your description but unfortunately the image is so small, that it is very difficult to find the different "tools". There are some areas very bright that may represent overexposure with no details. The blurred reflection in the moving water adds interest as do the shades of color. Perhaps cropping some of the sky in a panorama style will remove some of the empty space that does not add anything.   Posted: 10/07/2021 16:21:10

Dan - Your capture of the skyline with the colorful buildings, interesting architecture and reflections creates a pleasing image. I used to work in my company's San Diego office (next to the Santa Fe train depot), visiting about 4 times a year and never knew that it was called 'Tool City'. Thanks for sharing that info!
