About the Image(s)

That way was created in la Havana – Cuba while walking through the downtown streets since before sunrise. This couple were standing on a corner deciding which way to go and holding hands.
I used a Nikon D5 with the Nikkor zoom 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6 @ 135 mm and with these settings: ISO 4000 (forgot to change it as light conditions improved) f/10 and 1/400 sec
Image was PP in lightroom and corrected for white balance, vibrance and finished with one pre-set in Luminar 4 and cropped.

A good street scene story capturing individuals viewing something of interest. Good timely capture with imaginagion. Good light and color. I like the position of the principles but would crop top some and bottom to just before the street hole just to reduce nonde space.   Posted: 05/11/2021 15:00:18

Isaac.. well balanced composition with the left wall providing an interesting stop to frame the couple on the street. Good hand gestures and the two hands grasping each for support connects the man and woman as does the cane which becomes a quasi 5th leg. A study in contrasts - of gender and race. This is an alternative B&W version which entails a small overall crop to bring the "hands" on the thirds; kept the circular pothole which repeats on the handle of the cane and eyeglasses; added a vignette. Well done, Isaac!   Posted: 05/17/2021 04:48:51

Nice Street photo with good story. It seems that they are discussing something happening in front of them or maybe the man is trying to help her while stopping a taxi. The colors are really beautiful specially the blue background. The details of their clothes are beautiful.   Posted: 05/20/2021 11:24:47

What immediately stands out in this photo are the beautiful colors, the persons that are drawn from the background, the simple but effective composition and the contrast of the characters. We have a guess at the story, which makes it interesting. The colors are so beautiful that a conversion to black-white would be a loss.   Posted: 05/21/2021 07:44:48

I thought I had posted a comment on this image but I must not have saved it. T

To me, this IS Havana! Multi-racial, colorful, with some trash on the street and open and exposed wires. All these things help tell the story. I like the contrast between the reds and blues (hair/pants and background) along with the action from the simple gesture of the women's hand to the man's looking out in the distance. Color works well here. B   Posted: 05/21/2021 19:18:56

A wonderful pic with excellent comments from all. I like Gloria's crop because. The original seems too distant and now the crop brings us closer and more intimate as we now can better see facial details and expressions.   Posted: 05/27/2021 11:45:19
