November 2023 - Palm

About the Image(s)

I just took this shot the other day. It was early morning and it has rained the night before, but the sun was not up long enough to dry everything off. I loved the drops of water sitting on the palm. Luckily I took the shot also, because the Gardner came by and chopped everything down! Shot with my iPhone. Natural light. I did a little post processing in Photoshop.

Hi Jessica - this is a lovely capture. I too love water droplets and it's nice to see them as they have occurred naturally. I like your perspective also. My only suggestion might be to remove some of the droplet shadows on that leaf.   Posted: 11/19/2023 22:50:36

I like this shot, the strong lines running diagonally add strength and interest. The water drops add interest and give the image that third dimension.   Posted: 11/20/2023 22:25:48

I like the lines and perspective of this photo and the water droplets add interest. My only sugestion is to darken the upper right corner.   Posted: 11/21/2023 15:16:33

Good composition for the stems to bring us into the center of the plant. There is plenty of depth of field to have the image sharp from front to back, and the water droplets add a lot to the image. I agree with Cindy that you should darken the upper right corner.   Posted: 11/25/2023 18:35:09

Compliments on the use of the lower left corner and the first two blades. All the rest falls into place after this. I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for the tip on filters. I will have to research.   Posted: 11/30/2023 05:55:14

Very nice, I like the water drops, and the diagonal lines going up into the image. I've been shooting a lot more with just my iPhone, and I have a room full of big cameras.   Posted: 11/30/2023 13:16:08
