"This is a photo taken at The Domes in Milwaukee, WI which is a multi venue botanical garden. One dome has the desert theme with plants to match, one tropical, and one is classified as the Show dome whose displays change five times per year usually categorized as historical, cultural or fantasy. This shot, taken with my Sony a6500, 90mm macro lens at f5.6, ISO 800, 1/20 sec on a tripod. The lighting was very dim, so I wasn't able to shoot for better DOF. I darkened the background which was very cluttered. The color and attracted my eye; don't know the type of flower. Processed in ON1 Photo RAW 2023 with basic adjustments including contrast, boosting the shadows and clarity. Image was cropped."

I love the soft and mysterious quality of this image. Obviously we are looking at a flower, however, is it in a vase; is it in outside? It makes a great little study.   Posted: 11/21/2023 08:55:58

I like the bright colors against the dark background. It is very appealing. I think the depth of field is fine, but, for me, the fuzzy edges are a bit distracting.   Posted: 11/21/2023 09:20:08

Very colorful. The depth of field is okay, with the front row of flowers being sharp. The black background against the flowers is striking. One thing that I don't like is that the stem is missing and so the flowers seem to be floating.   Posted: 11/25/2023 12:50:40

This must have been a difficult subject to capture with low light and small patterns. It looks to me there's one set of patterns that lead to a smaller set and then to a third even smaller pattern. Have you heard of a Mandelbrot Set? Focus stacking might be of good use here.   Posted: 11/28/2023 21:34:46

Very nice colors, and I like the dreamy focus look.   Posted: 11/30/2023 07:24:39
