November 2023 - At the Classic Car Show

About the Image(s)

This image was taken a couple of months ago at a car show that they had downtown. While wandering around taking images, I saw this very shiny and unusually shaped mirror. I liked all of the distortions in it, and having the car next to it in the reflections. That is a self portrait of a very skinny me in the right side of the mirror. Taken with my Olympus E-M5 Mark III and Olympus 12-45mm lens at 40mm, 1/1000th second, f8, and ISO 400.

Luv those classic cars. I like shooting them as well and the shiny chrome can be tricky. You handled this well and the car reflection adds well to the story.   Posted: 11/20/2023 16:37:51

Interesting image. I feel the image is more about the reflection than the actual mirror, and I agree with you the distortion of the car is what makes the image great. You almost have a great image within an image. The taller part of the mirror has its own little scene in it as well.   Posted: 11/21/2023 08:58:16

Very interesting and unique shot. The reflections are great. This shot was made for close-up. Nice clarity and focus.   Posted: 11/21/2023 09:21:29

Fantastic close-up of golden age engineering. The shadow reflections outline the mirror perfectly.   Posted: 11/28/2023 18:59:01

Very nice image, I like the reflection of the other car in the mirror. I also like shooting car shows, I've had some trouble keeping my reflection out of the photos, so I try to wear black to help.   Posted: 11/30/2023 07:28:00
