September 2021 - Coneflower

About the Image(s)

Made this image in Cincinnati at Ault Park, my camera club was having a lighting workshop meeting. After photographing the model, I had to go around and take some photos of some of the flowers. Here is a nice Coneflower I found. Shot with my Olympus OMD- M1x, with the 12-40 2.8 lens. f/3.2, 1/50 sec,ISO 64.
Processed with Capture One and Photoshop.

Nice capture Nelson. I like your vantage point of looking straight down on the flower which works well the the 1x1 format. I like the colors as well, nice blend between the purples and orange. My one suggestion might be, since the center of the flower seems to be the center of interest, more Depth of Field, IMHO, would strengthen the composition. Maybe there was not enough light, but f8 with a higher ISO could have given sharper center. The double line border with complementary color works well.   Posted: 09/12/2021 10:35:02

Great flower shot. I always hesitate to capture flowers straight on, but I like the way the petals on this are uneven. Makes it interesting. You captured the cone flower in perfect focus as well.   Posted: 09/14/2021 07:54:33

This is a lovely cone flower. You have great details, focus and exposure. Perfectly executed! I love the color of the flower and contrast of it with the blurred lush green behind it. Simple and elegant!   Posted: 09/19/2021 13:09:27
