Disk Lights by Bob Crocker

About the Image(s)

" It's been rainy and windy here for several days, so I shot my image for this month indoors. This is a photo of a CD disk, working with a pen light to bring out some of the prism like colors. Shot using my Sony a6500, 90mm macro lens, at f22, ISO 100 for 12 seconds. Bumped up the saturation and vibrancy a little and added some dynamic contrast. There seemed to be some pixelation in spots so I added a little noise reduction, which at first I didn't think I would need shooting at ISO 100." I spent a lot timing playing with the lights, each photo is different. It's a nice rainy project.

Love the vibrant colors in this creative image. The water drops look like they are floating! You have inspired me to try something different. I'd say your experimenting was a success.   Posted: 05/06/2021 09:31:33

Thanks Cindy. It was fun playing around but yet it did 'teach' me some about light and reflections. If you plan doing any images with water drops, I'll pass along a tip that was given to me. Mix up a 50/50 solution of water and glycerin, the drops stick around longer and hold their shape better.   Posted: 05/06/2021 16:32:58
