About the Image(s)
This image was taken one morning at 5 AM, just as the sun was rising at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was a very dark morning and my post-processing consisted of LR cropping, masking and enhancing exposure and contrast, also used AI denoise - all of which were possible because the scene was captured in RAW. Nikon D7000, f/22, 1/8 second exposure, 20 mm.
I can crop it further and probably will, but my eye sees the Canyon this way and that's the reason I don't start with a more cropped image. I will appreciate suggestions

This is such a picturesque image and you captured it well.
The rising sun on the Grand Canyon is amazing! You've captured it just as it is rising. Sky colors look like they are just coming up for the day. I don't know that you need to crop this any more. This is an amazing scene and well seen.

Zina,
VERY nice shot. The Grand Canyon is photographed so often it isn't easy to take a shot that is not just another postcard shot, but I think you managed that here.
Personally, I would not try cropping it further, especially if that meant losing the rocks along the right side that are a visual anchor for the shot...and they are in pretty sharp focus. I like the layering of the colors from the sun, into the blues and then the grays and finally the rocks in front. It's a nice reward for getting up that early, and as powerful a software editing tools have gotten I think there is no substitute for getting those lighting conditions "in the wild". Very nicely done...I can't see any way to improve it.   Posted: 05/19/2023 17:07:44

Actually, I think that you got it right and lightening the foreground as I did above wasn't a plus. Great image!   Posted: 05/25/2023 14:48:33
Thank you for the comments; I'm continuing to try some color adjustment just for my own learning but I'm grateful for your 'got it right' sentiment!   Posted: 05/25/2023 20:21:10
