About the Image(s)
My image this month is Calla lilies using a light pad.
Continuing from last month, I set up a pot of planted Calla lilies and I blocked out the greenery using towels to tamp them down. The Calla lilies were in reverse order from what you see i.e.: from smallest to tallest, so I changed it in PS.
I used my Nikon 5600 camera,18-55 mm lens, light pad.

Bev, thank you for your suggestion. I think that the background is a matter of personal preference. I will keep your idea in mind. There are certainly options when working in PS for colored background and changing the Image ---> Mode---> and Lab color.   Posted: 05/15/2022 19:06:10
I too would appreciate a different background; I was thinking of something in a light off-tone to complement the yellow streak in the lilies, with slight vignetting rather than a busier style, but as you say, it is a matter of your choice! I appreciate the link to the Davis YouTube, and will check it out. The lilies are such an unusual color and shape (in comparison to ones that I grow) that I am drawn to them over and over again, following your arrangement.   Posted: 05/22/2022 10:25:01
I like the background because of the simplicity. The lilies are well placed with three being the right number and the graduated sizes are a plus. Thanks Pauline for the tip to modify a background in PS.   Posted: 05/24/2022 11:07:26
Pauline,
Very nice image. While I can appreciate where Bev and Zina are coming from to suggest a background color or pattern, I agree with Alec...I like the pure white for its stark simplicity. I agree these things are a matter of personal taste, but if your goal is simplicity as a way to make something delicate stand out, pure white (or in some settings, pure black) is a great way to do it...almost minimalist.   Posted: 05/24/2022 20:15:36
