The Diner by Ron Clegg

January 2022 - The Diner

About the Image(s)

The Diner, was shot the same day as last month's images (as requested). The diner was closed and this was shot through a glass door on one end. I added a little creative filter to smooth some noise from the high ISO and add some colorful contrast. Nikon D750 ISO 1250, Samyang 12 mm lens, f2.8 @ 1/125 sec.

I love the quaint feel of the diner. It makes me want to step inside see what it's like. This image has strong use of leading lines, good lighting, and lovely colors. The image is lovely.   Posted: 01/13/2022 20:49:20

You have brought us into our past! At least, my own past. The colors, the textures, and the inward-looking pull of the image are all irresistable. My NYC youth didn't see many of these so whenever I did actually see one, it was as special as this image.   Posted: 01/19/2022 08:41:50

Ron, This is a gem! It really conveys "diner" so well. I like the colors very much and the perspective. The floor is a real plus! It does make you want to sit down and order a cheese burger.   Posted: 01/21/2022 10:18:21

I had planned on sitting in the diner and having lunch. All the other times I was there it was full. This time it was closed.   Posted: 01/23/2022 11:16:16

Awesome leading lines. I think you could really use something like Topaz Denoise to remove some of the high iso artifacts. Maybe it is my screen but the looks comes across a bit too yellow in tone. It is really surprising you were able to be in there with the place empty.   Posted: 01/23/2022 16:52:52
