A Little Sunshine by Ron Clegg

November 2021 - A Little Sunshine

About the Image(s)

A little Sunshine, was shot on 10/12/21. In Cuyahoga Natl Park, Ohio. . To get to this area, I had to walk a trail to the wooden steps going down and along the side of a deep gorge. And down again to the bottom of the gorge to a wood landing. Carrying tripod and all my gear ( Google, Chestvest). We were their for two days photographing waterfalls and some scenic overlooks of the valley.
Nikon D750 ISO 100, nikon 70-300 mm lens, f 13 @ 1/10 sec (+/-5). processed in Photomatix 6.3, cropping contrast and other minor adjustment in PS 5.

I like the aesthetics of this photos, processing works well. I wish this wasn't as tight of a crop, I'd liked to see a bit more of the area around the falls, place it in context of the landscape. Did you shoot photos of the wood steps along the gorge?   Posted: 11/12/2021 08:50:43

There's gold in that there waterfall! A lovely capture, shutter speed is perfect, with fantastic texture in the water. Like Matt I would have like to see more area around the falls. Good job Ron!   Posted: 11/14/2021 20:37:53

I like the multi layers of the water falls and you certainly smoothed out the flowing water at 1/10 seconds. The way the light dances on the water is beautiful. I like the touch of green as well.   Posted: 11/15/2021 13:38:12

You captured a lovely waterfall image from below the waterfall itself with the sun's rays shining through the water. The smothness of the water and the texture is quite nice and I like the 3 or 4 steps of the waterfall that the water is bouncing off of.
I agree with the others about the tight crop.

Was this one image, or multiple images that were photostacked?
Nice job!   Posted: 11/21/2021 20:18:10

Love the textured water, accented by the green grass and colored leaves and the flow over the steps - nicely done! I agree that a broader view would have more appeal.
