About the Image(s)

I was charmed by this whimsical life guard station in Miami Beach. There are a number of equally exotic stations as you go north along the coast of Miami.

It was taken by a Canon PowerShot G3X at 450 mm EFL, ISO 125, f/5.6 and 1/160 seconds.

I enhanced it with contrast, clarity and vibrance in Lightroom and then applied the “simplified underpainting” filter from Topaz Studio.

The vibrant tropical colors make a nice contrast to the sand in the foreground and buildings in the back. The softness of the image adds to the whimsical charm.

The lifeguard to the left and his vehicle to the right, plus the flag and the umbrella shelters, let us know this is an active beach.

Very, very nicely done!   Posted: 05/06/2021 13:55:33

I like the filter effect you have used for this image. Lots of bright colours to draw your attention and invite you to look around. Well done!   Posted: 05/11/2021 20:39:52

You are really getting creative on your editing as of late. A very modern art sort of feel. I don't think there is any changes I can really suggest other than wishing it was tad wider so the ATV in the lower right wasn't cut off.   Posted: 05/27/2021 15:49:49
