About the Image(s)

This is a collage of three photos I took in Montreal last year before the pandemic hit and stopped travel. I wanted to make a cohesive street scene from three different scenes. All work done in Photoshop.
I put each photo on a separate layer and then masked out the areas I didn't feel fit into the scene I had in mind. I then colorized some areas of the buildings with the soft brush and added a couple of textures using a different blend mode to create the blocks of images.
A new look for me that was fun to make and a nice memory of our visit to Montreal

I love blended images/collages perhaps because I can't seem to get them right. You got it right, but I'm a proponent of "less is more." I see value in this collage, but it's a little too crowded/busy for my taste.   Posted: 06/03/2021 10:02:10

Kathy, This is such an interesting exploration of a city scene. I like how you've created a complex blend here. This is the kind of image I imagine you could play with for quite some time. Areas I might play some more if you have that interest would be in the overlap of the two central photos as their edges are very close together and I wonder if they were separated more either in space or via layer masks/coloring/drop shadows etc, they may be more impactful.   Posted: 06/09/2021 22:14:58

I love this!
All 3 main elements have been blended fantastically leading to the high key focal point of the Church/Cathedral, the texture & the frame doesn't look out of place either and suits the image well. It has a very late 1800s wet plate photography vibe about it.   Posted: 06/15/2021 08:13:29
