About the Image(s)

As an Art History minor in college, I was exposed to a variety of inspired crucifixes.
During the Renaissance, some crucifixes were painted on top of a skull that is presumed to be Adam’s skull. The crucifix along with Adam’s skull is thought to be a symbol of rebirth. In our travels, my wife and I always visit old cathedrals because that’s where some of the best art exists. This composite incorporates some of those images and is the final version of a lot of similar attempts. I drew the cubes/dice with the help of Photoshop’s grid tool (CTRL??”quotation mark key) and used the Pen Tool to isolate each side of each cube so I could add a Radial Gradient within the boundary the Pen Tool created. Cutting and pasting each image of a crucifix on the gradient was more
challenging than I anticipated. The angle of each side required that I use Edit > Free Transform > Distort so that each image would fit comfortably in each side. Finally, I drew the outline of each die as the Radial Gradient sometimes obscured the edges.
