About the Image(s)

Saw this piece of wood in the forest. The rotting wood looks like an artwork created by nature.

specs: 1/25s at f/10, iso 100, with 21mm prime lens and aperture priority. Shot in RAW and post-processed with LR/PS.

It really does look like a creature. I blurred the background a bit to make it stand out more   Posted: 06/18/2022 13:02:37

I'm enjoying the creature and the scenery. Wonderful colors too. I tried making even more of the background blurry. What do you think?   Posted: 06/18/2022 13:49:22

I like that you included the background of other trees. It provides a great contrast. The colors are wonderful, too.   Posted: 06/18/2022 21:17:07

Great find, Brian! I think you chose a good angle for this capture, which emphasizes the subject and helps to tell a good story.

I went a little darker with the background and brighter with the "creature." Thoughts?   Posted: 06/19/2022 18:08:31

The colors are raelly nicely done. The idea is good. I would play with the composition: try cropping more,The four trees on the left seem to me to be a distraction. You can erase them in PS. You can do the sme with the trees on the right side   Posted: 06/20/2022 12:50:34

I can easily imagine the wood critter taking a walk through the woods. I like the original the most.

Thanks all for the feedbacks. I see this piece of wood as a rotting wood from the woods in the background. Therefore I would like to keep the background in the image. To make the subject stand out, a slightly blurry background, and maybe some blurry in the foreground is prefered. It is really about how much we like to get the background related to the subject:)   Posted: 06/22/2022 15:04:29
