About the Image(s)

I shot this image with my Canon Power Shot SX10IS while on our photography club’s first outing post-pandemic. We visited Watson Lake, which is surrounded by Granite Dells near Prescott, Arizona. I chose my image for sharing with the red kayaks in their most pleasing configuration. Post-editing I used Elements to crop out irrelevant items and eliminate distractions. Hoping I captured the delight of enjoying the outdoors with photography friends.

How lucky are you to be able to visit here. Fab location. I took out some of the canoes and just left the front group of 3.   Posted: 05/09/2021 08:22:15

Thank you Miriam; your change is spot on. I am fortunate to live in Arizona, where there are many photo ops.   Posted: 05/18/2021 03:37:28

Very nice image. Could be a travel poster. I like that Miriam removed some of the boats. Gives a better focus.
Do you live in the Prescott area?   Posted: 05/10/2021 13:12:05

Thank you Dan. I live outside of Phoenix. Granite Dells is 5 miles from downtown Prescott which is about an hour and a half drive from my home.   Posted: 05/18/2021 03:36:22

Great spot and cool image. The kayaks definitely add to the story and it's nice that they're red (not black or blue). Going down to just the front group strengthens the focus.   Posted: 05/10/2021 17:07:04

the three red kayaks add interest and scale- even if i cant tell if they are coming or going! The crop accentuates the structure of this magnificent landscape.   Posted: 05/15/2021 14:22:38

The wind that day was fierce, so controlling the kayaks coming or going was a challenge for those brave souls in the water.   Posted: 05/18/2021 03:31:51

What a location! I bet you got lots of images here - I know I would have.

I agree with Miriam's removal of the extra kayaks. I had a go at bringing out more color and texture. What do y'all think?   Posted: 05/16/2021 11:11:57

The rocks even in bright sunlight are not that warm, if my memory from being there is accurate. Tom's enhancements make a vibrant image.   Posted: 05/18/2021 03:27:40

Thanks to all. Agree with eliminating all the kayaks but the prominent three.   Posted: 05/18/2021 03:25:39
